Want to make your dog happy? keep reading…
Every pet owner would love to make their pets happy. If not, do you even have a heart? Now my expertise is on dogs as you all know, so I can speak on and on about how these tips will make your doggo happy. But, Why should you make your dog happy? To begin with, they deserve the world. They will give their whole life to you I think this is the least we can do. You know how they say to us humans dogs are just a part of our life, but for them, we are their whole life. As cheesy as it sounds its true. They even dream about us. They will dedicate themselves to make us happy. Dogs are so precious. We seriously need to learn from dogs. Humanity is sadly to the point where we need to learn from our fur babies. On a brighter side, these tips will make your doggo happy.
These tips are mainly lifestyle changes you’ll have to make.
Trust me on this will ya? Let’s get on with these tips
Also, on a side note: always remember you get your dog with love and interest, please don’t ignore their health and life. It’s a choice you made, don’t make them suffer for your choices. Give them the best life they deserve. The happier your dog is the longer he will live. Anyways, moving on
They have four legs for a reason guys. They love their walks, I mean all the new smells they get to sniff. What’s not to love? On a serious note, they need their daily exercise so walks are great. Walking also changes their boring environment which is really good for their mental health as well. My dog has a routine, he looks forward to his walks every day. We take him on a walk at least 3 times a day.
Talk to them
This is so underestimated, you guys. Just like any extroverted human, dogs love when you talk to them. My dog can’t eat without us talking to him about taking him on a walk, take him on a ride, street dogs, etc. I personally talk to my dog more than I talk to other humans. No wonder he is so spoiled. They deserve to be spoiled, so no complains there. Talking to them makes them feel special and loved.
They love their car rides. Especially when it’s to the park. Car rides make them happy because they relate them to the memory of going to the park or somewhere out of the house. I live far away from the dog park so we go in the car, that’s how to he relates and gets really happy. Now, he gets his car rides almost every day. We just drive him around the block. Spoiled? Definitely. He deserves everything so this is nothing.
Unlike us humans, our dogs don’t really understand technology. They are pretty old school that way. Pets (mostly dog’s) love toys so much. SQUEAKY TOYS are the best kind. My dog is obsessed with toys it’s not even funny. Toys make them really happy. Soft toys are a preference too. They love destroying them, that’s probably the only reason they love soft toys. LASER light is something you should definitely try. Toys will show them that we love them, it’s sort of a reward system in a way.
Who doesn’t like to be rewarded for their smartness? Treats play an important role in their life, that’s how they learn to obey and get trained. The tastier the treat the happier they are to get trained. Treats = happiness. The end. Treats not the only initiative good behavior, it also helps with your coats, stinky breath, biting issues, etc.
This is something we must do. It’s really good for their bones. Massage can help in reducing pain and stiffness, helps them achieve more flexibility. Massage also improves their blood flow and it is good for their heart. Like every other tip, this is also going to affect their psychological health in a great way. They feel loved, they get attention. This might be an issue sometimes during the puppy stage but, they will grow fond of it. My dog just learned the word massage, so he loves getting massages. This also helps us look at their coat a little more carefully. Checking their coats, paws, and ears will help us find ticks, flees, infections, rashes, lumps, etc.
Don’t leave them outside
If I come off rude saying this, please try and understand me. This is something that is so important for their mental health as well as physical health. Ask yourself the following questions:
- Did you get the dog home with your interest? (let it be your son, daughter, wife or even husband for that matter)
If yes, keep them inside the house and not outside.
- Before you got the dog did you know about the shedding and barking? Yes? How is it their fault?
Correct me if I am wrong here but you are getting a dog after knowing the pros and cons, don’t punish them by leaving them outside. Don’t punish them for your ill decisions. I’ve seen so many dog owners who leave their dogs outside their houses or out in the balcony. It just breaks my heart, they don’t deserve it. Just spend a day with them and you’ll know what I’m talking about. Leaving your dogs out especially during the summers is the worst thing you could ever do. They are left all alone, hot, dehydrated and sick. It also makes them depressed. Dogs get really upset when we leave the house, imagine how sad they are going to get knowing they deserve to be outside. It’s just cruel and inhuman.
On a lighter note, dogs love having a specific routine. This will help them understand us a little better. Having a routine is going to make them less anxious and scared. The more the changes in their routine the more anxious your pet is going to be. Set a schedule as per your free times for walking them and feeding them. Follow the same schedule every day.
I apologize if I came out rude at any point. I’m just a genuine dog lover who can’t see them suffer.
